The leadership behind the work

“A contractor should not disappear behind layers of handoffs. I built Kellets so clients can reach the person accountable for the outcome.”

Aubrey Phillibert

Nearly two decades of New York building leadership—brought directly to every opportunity.

Before founding Kellets, Aubrey advanced from property manager to managing director and vice president, leading complex New York properties, multidisciplinary teams and multimillion-dollar capital improvements. That operating background shapes how Kellets plans work in occupied buildings, communicates with stakeholders and protects the full project—not only the individual trade task.

Aubrey graduated summa cum laude from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and completed Duke University’s AEA Summer Program as an NSF Scholar. His construction and technical credentials include the Pace University Construction Management Certificate Program, EPA Section 608 Universal Technician certification, OSHA 30-hour Construction Outreach course completion and NYC DOB 8-hour Fall Prevention course completion.

Kellets is named for his mother’s hometown of Kellets, Clarendon, Jamaica. The company carries that heritage into a practical standard: take responsibility, respect the building, document the work and leave the client with something durable.

Why Kellets

Premier does not mean oversized. It means accountable, prepared and proven.

Operator’s perspective

Property-management and capital-project experience informs decisions about occupants, operations, access, risk, documentation and long-term performance.

How Kellets can participate

One firm. Three practical paths into the project.

The right role depends on scope, contract structure, schedule, capacity and solicitation requirements. Kellets qualifies the opportunity first, then defines a responsible delivery position.

Prime contractor

Owner-led responsibility for a defined construction or renovation scope, with required trade partners, documentation and project controls organized around the contract.

Best fit: defined project scope

Subcontractor

Targeted participation within a larger program or prime contract, including renovation, occupied-space, envelope, waterproofing and coordinated general-construction work packages.

Best fit: clear trade package

MBE teaming partner

Early teaming for opportunities where an accountable NYC-certified MBE can help shape scope, local delivery, documentation and participation strategy without overstating qualifications.

Best fit: early collaboration

Role selection remains subject to the specific solicitation, licensing, insurance, bonding, experience, capacity, trade and safety requirements.

The people behind the promise

Know who is accountable before the project begins.

Kellets combines owner-led management, field supervision, communications and project-specific trade collaboration.

Capability-statement FAQ

Who leads Kellets?

Kellets was founded and is led by Aubrey Phillibert, a New York construction and property-operations professional with nearly two decades of experience across property management, capital improvements and project leadership.

Is Kellets an NYC-certified MBE contractor?

Yes. Kellets is certified by NYC SBS as a Minority Business Enterprise under certificate MWCERT2026-633. The certified NAICS classification is 236118, Residential Remodelers.

Is Kellets registered in NYC PASSPort?

Yes. Kellets is registered under PASSPort Vendor ID VS00109195. Registration does not replace the separate requirements of an individual solicitation.

What work is Kellets best positioned to evaluate?

Kellets evaluates renovation, occupied interiors, roofing and building-envelope restoration, basement and foundation waterproofing, masonry and concrete coordination, preconstruction, HVAC, heat-pump and building-electrification opportunities across residential, multifamily, commercial and public-sector settings.

Can Kellets participate as a prime, subcontractor or teaming partner?

Yes. Kellets evaluates prime, subcontract and teaming roles against the requested scope, location, capacity, schedule, insurance, bonding, licensing, trade and experience requirements.

How does Kellets manage quality and communication?

Kellets defines scope and responsibilities before mobilization, coordinates site protection and phasing, documents field conditions with photos and video, tracks decisions and changes in writing, and closes work through punch-list and project-record review. Aubrey remains the executive point of accountability.

Does Kellets self-perform every licensed trade?

No contractor should imply authority it does not hold. Kellets evaluates each scope against applicable licensing and permit requirements and coordinates appropriately licensed electrical, plumbing and other specialty trades where required.

How should an opportunity be submitted?

Email the solicitation or scope, project address, bid deadline, anticipated schedule, trade package, participation goals and known qualification requirements to projects@kellets.com.
